GARY SAKS D.C.
CHIROPRACTOR & CLINICAL NUTRITIONIST
I am still amazed at all the conditions that chiropractic care can help! It surprised me when I was a patient, but even more so when I became a doctor.
The reason I became a chiropractor was that as a patient I was impressed at what chiropractic did for me. I had a headache that lasted for six months. I went to a chiropractor and in very short order, the headache disappeared. Rarely do I have them now, and that was over 40 years ago!
CHIROPRACTIC EDUCATION
I graduated from Wayne State University as a teacher in 1972. That turned out to be a very good base because I love to teach about being healthy. I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1976. I received the traditional chiropractic education coming away with the Palmer Package of adjusting techniques. However, while attending Palmer I developed a passion for Applied Kinesiology (AK) and clinical nutrition. In fact, I was the Founder and President of the Palmer Applied Kinesiology Club. Currently, I am board qualified in AK. I learned from the creator of the technique, Dr. George Goodheart, I have logged in over 1000 hours of post graduate education in the realm of clinical nutrition and am now certified in Nutrition Response Testing.
THE KEY TO HEALTHY LIVING
I feel that our current health model is going down the wrong road. Being healthy isn’t just about getting rid of symptoms quickly and assuming that you have fixed the cause of the problem. There are a lot of ways to help the body to heal itself. When that occurs, you have achieved a level of health that is not dependent on medications. Once that occurs, health actually comes down to a day by day, moment by moment decision on how we conduct our lives and treat our bodies.
The key to living healthy is to prepare your body to run in an optimal state. Chiropractic care, proper nutrition and exercise are just a few of the essential components for well being. Chiropractic care is the largest health care delivery system that doesn’t use drugs or surgery. It is gentle and works in harmony with the body, and does not cause side effects.
ON A PERSONAL NOTE
My time outside of the office is spent cutting firewood, cross-country skiing or working in the garden. I am a devoted practitioner of Yoga and meditation. I enjoy backpacking in remote places like Alaska and Isle Royale.
I live the lifestyle I ask my patients to follow. We take into consideration a person’s overall health, the way they eat, what level of activity is within their daily practice, and their mental and emotional health.
SEE HOW CHIROPRACTIC CAN HELP YOU
As a Chiropractor in Gaylord since 1976, I have had the opportunity to work with a large variety of people and conditions. I continue to be impressed with how the body can heal itself given the right help from the outside and the right efforts from the patient.
I consider myself an excellent listener and hope I get the opportunity to meet you in person and discuss your specific health challenge. Give our office a call.
MADISON SAYLOR D.C.

Dr. Madison Saylor started her chiropractic education during her first year of college while still attending Onaway High School.
Upon graduation, she received the Honor Student Scholarship and used it to pursue a free education from North Central Michigan College in Petoskey.
She moved to New York for 3.5 years and simultaneously received her bachelor’s degree and a doctorate of chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College.

Dr. Saylor married her husband Matt in August of 2019. Together, they like to backpack hike, with their dog Mars, go kayaking, and watch Marvel movies.
“I am proud to say I am from northern Michigan. We are blessed to be tucked in between the beautiful shorelines of the Great Lakes while also being enclosed by natural wilderness. Our small knit communities are a great way to grow up because you feel safe here surrounded by friends and neighbors. I can’t see myself living anywhere else.”
Dr. JACOB FREEMAN
Dr. Freeman’s journey toward chiropractic began right here in Gaylord, Michigan. Growing up, he started seeing a chiropractor to stay healthy during sports. As a three-sport athlete at Gaylord High School, he played football, basketball, and baseball for the Blue Devils, and frequently sought chiropractic care to stay game-ready. After a football injury sidelined him, chiropractic care got him back on the field, inspiring him to become a chiropractor and provide high-quality care to his community.
After graduating from Gaylord High School in 2016, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Saginaw Valley State University, graduating in 2020. Shortly after graduation from Saginaw Valley State, he married his wife Jada, also a Gaylord native, and together they left the “Winter Wonderland” of northern Michigan for the “Sunshine State” of Florida.
In Florida, Dr. Freeman attended Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Florida campus in Port Orange, where he earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree. After graduating from Palmer in 2023, Dr. Freeman and his wife decided it was time to return to their roots in Northern Michigan, leaving Florida to be back in the place they call home.
Outside of work, Dr. Freeman enjoys playing and watching sports, especially cheering on the Michigan Wolverines (Go Blue!), being outdoors golfing and hunting, and most of all spending time with his wife, and chasing around their two sons, Lincoln and Dawson.
Dr. Freeman emphasizes a holistic approach to chiropractic care, integrating chiropractic adjustments with rehabilitative exercises and stretches to keep the body functioning optimally and pain-free. He is committed to providing the best evidence-based treatment, and promoting overall health and wellness. He believes **“Exercise is Medicine”** and his goal is to equip his patients with the knowledge and tools to maintain good health long term.
“I am proud to be from Gaylord, I am so excited to be back now that I have the skills to help provide care to the people of this great community I have always called home.”
